Since 2003, Ashley Collins has been the owner of Collins Builders. A Jacksonville, Fla. native, he is a graduate of the Bolles School and holds a bachelor’s of business administration from Stetson University.

After college, Ashley entered the home-building business with a local company, Trademark Homes, as an assistant superintendent in December of 1999 and worked his way up to superintendent in 2000. From 2000-2001, he managed the construction of more than 70 homes. In late 2001, he moved on to work for another Jacksonville-based home builder, SEDA, in the estimating, budgeting and purchasing department as well as the construction department and worked extensively in internet-based scheduling software from 2001-2003.

In May 2003, Collins Builders was founded. For the first five years, Ashley led incredible growth for the company, from building one home the first year to 148 homes closed in 2008. When the economic downturn came in 2008, Ashley led the company through the recession, weathering the tough times and since 2013 has experienced 25 percent year-over-year growth. He credits the success to God, his family, a talented team of professionals at Collins Builders and an unwavering commitment to serving clients. Ashley is happily married to his wife of more than 20 years, Jeanie, and is blessed with four children: Hayden, Rowan, Lawson and Lincoln. Jeanie has been a steady and faithful encouragement by his side and he is eternally grateful to her. He credits his success to her devotion and their commitment to the Lord. When not leading Collins Builders, he enjoys attending church, reading, date nights with his wife, fishing, sports and vacations with his children.

Having been in business since 2003, Ashley continues to lead by serving others to help them prosper both personally and professionally and by delivering customers a homebuilding experience of the highest quality and service that is second to none.

Mark Knowles is Collins Builders’ Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He is an Ohio native who moved to Jacksonville, Fla. to attend the University of North Florida, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. While pursuing his college education, Mark worked in the construction industry and gained familiarity with the profession and the greater-Jacksonville market.

Mark continued in the construction industry as the controller for Stokes and Company, one of the fastest growing local builder/development companies in northeast Fla. at the time. In 1986, he joined Joseph Collins’ company as CFO, overseeing the accounting department, developing and maintaining lender relationships, reporting to partners, assisting with land purchases and the preparation of tax returns and financial statements. Most importantly, Mark was responsible for establishing more than $100M in construction and development financing. Additionally, Mark was instrumental in the creation and eventual sale of two building companies; each sold to national home builders.

While working with the senior Collins, Mark also worked with Ashley Collins and acted as Collins Builders’ CFO from its inception. After winding down senior’s successful development business in 2016, Mark migrated to the CFO position with the Collins Builders’ management team.

When not working, Mark is an avid distance runner and loves the outdoors. He also enjoys woodworking and serving others who have “construction” related projects, especially those who have needs in his local church. Shortly after moving to Jacksonville, Mark met Peggy, his wife of 44 years. He and Peggy raised four children and now love traveling to visit them and their grandchildren.

Tim Calderala is Collins Builders’ COO. Born in the Chicago area, and raised outside of Columbia, S.C., Tim has spent his entire career involved in all aspects of residential construction and real estate. While still in high school, he began working in construction, performing demolition and various construction-related tasks and quickly recognized his passion for building new homes. Tim received a B.S. in business management, with a minor in psychology, from the University of South Carolina.

After graduation, Tim moved to Nashville, Tenn., where he was employed by The Jones Company, a reputable local custom home building team, as a purchasing/estimating manager working on high-end projects. It was at The Jones Company where he really dug in and gleaned from the tremendous wisdom of the team to diversify his overall knowledge of the industry. Over a five-year period, he took on several roles in order to diversify his knowledge base and, ultimately, ended up being promoted to operations manager for the company, relocating his family to Jacksonville, Fla.

Upon moving to Jacksonville, Tim joined the team at North Florida Builders, a highly reputable local custom home builder. Over a five-year period of working to help build a team to sustain continual growth as one of the largest custom home builders in Northeast Fla., he was able to combine his construction knowledge with his passion for real estate to continue his growth and development and take on the role as Vice President of Operations.

In 2014, Tim joined Ashley Collins and the Collins Builders team to help enhance and diversify the product offering and to introduce a new custom home division. During his tenure, the company focus has shifted to support the move to high end custom home building and Tim is responsible for all day to day aspects of sales, interior design, marketing, finance and construction. Tim also has a particular passion for architectural design and for creating relevant, beautiful new plans with personalized and diverse features.

During six years at Collins Builders, with his high energy level and unwavering passion for quality custom home building and customer service, Tim has helped to grow Collins Builders to one of the largest independent builders of custom homes in Northeast Fla.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, exercising and traveling with his wife Jaymee.

Olivia Kleman relocated to Jacksonville in 2022 and is a key member of our
Architectural Design department at Collins Builders. Olivia attended the
Pennsylvania College of Technology, where she excelled in residential, retail, and
commercial design.

Olivia brings with her several years of experience in architectural design and
enjoys working with clients to personalize each custom home to meet their
specific needs and desires.

When she is not working, Olivia enjoys playing golf, exercising, exploring, and
going to the beach.

Jaymee Calderala

Jaymee Calderala is Collins Builders’ Operations Manager. She was born in Michigan and raised in Columbia, Tenn. and studied at Columbia State College, graduating with an associates degree in accounting. Jaymee and her family moved to Jacksonville, Fla. in 2002.

Prior to joining Collins Builders as the accountant in January 2010, Jaymee worked in a CPA firm, for a custom homebuilder and for a municipal building department. In 2014, she moved on to develop the operations manager position as the company grew. In her role, Jaymee supervises the daily pre-construction operations at Collins Builders and works to continuously improve the efficiency of each department. She is the primary point of contact for clients from contract through closing. She assists with permitting, client questions, change order processing and provides myriad other client support functions throughout the entire construction process.

Additionally, Jaymee is responsible for developing and monitoring each project’s preconstruction milestone and schedule. She works with the sales team, project managers and construction manager to ensure the contracts and pre-construction schedules are aligned and followed.

Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 20 years, Tim, and their children and grandchildren. Jaymee is a member of First Baptist Church, Nocatee and enjoys serving in her community as an organ donation advocate.

Steve Bourre is Collins Builders’ Construction Manager. From a military family, he grew up all over the world, finishing school in North Carolina.

Steve moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 2004 to work with Collins Builders. He began his time with the company as an assistant project manager and quickly worked his way up to a project manager. In that role, he managed the construction of two neighborhoods in the Jacksonville/Mandarin area. After two years with Collins Builders, he became the production manager and took over management of the Construction Department and its project managers.

During the construction process, Steve is involved early - prior to contracts being written - performing a site evaluation to determine the steps required to kick off the project. This includes the examination of road and entry conditions, homesite-clearing needs (trees or buildings), overhead and underground concerns, and drainage, among others. One of his favorite parts of the job is performing the site walk with clients to show where the house will go prior to the start of construction, so they can visualize their dream home.

Steve and the team of project managers are dedicated to building a quality home for each and every one of their home owners, taking pride in going the extra mile for the homeowner in the thoroughness of their quality control walks and checklist at each main phase of construction. Steve also plays a critical role to ensure training for project managers and trade partners is ongoing as the industry, products and building codes are constantly changing. He enjoys offshore fishing, when he can find the time, and following his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dalton Raulerson

Dalton Raulerson is a Project Manager for Collins Builders. He is a lifelong resident of MacClenny and graduate of Baker County High School.

Dalton began his career in construction while still in high school and remained in the family business upon graduation, rising to become the main superintendent for the company. He joined Collins Builders in 2017. Through his previous work, he was familiar with Collins’ reputation for superior customer service and the integrity and transparency they demonstrate with all their trade partners. The company’s faith- and family-based foundation is what ultimately attracted Dalton to Collins’ Builders.

As a project manager, Dalton oversees all aspects of the homebuilding process, working closely with clients, engineers and architects to develop plans, establish timetables, and determine labor and material costs, ensuring the project is completed on budget and within scope. For Dalton, the favorite part of his job is meeting new clients and helping them begin the journey that culminates in their dream home.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Brandi and two children, Kelston and Rylan, and a variety of outdoor activities.

Judd Cummings is a Project Manager for Collins Builders. He was born and raised in the Jacksonville, Fla. area. Judd served four years in the United States Air Force, spending most of the time stationed at Royal Air Force Chicksands, England. After his Air Force Service, he moved to Charleston, S.C. earning an Associates Degree in 1996, before returning home to study business management at Jacksonville University.

Judd joined Collins Builders as a Project Manager in August 2019. He started his construction management experience in 2002 in the on-your-homesite home building segment. After spending several years building homes for national production builders, he wanted to get back into custom home building on clients’ homesite with a local builder that provides each homebuyer with a unique and personal building experience. In 2019, this led him to Collins builders.

Judd oversees all aspects of each project’s build from site development to the completion of the home, continuing through each home’s warranty. He is responsible for developing and monitoring each project’s milestones. He works with both internal and external team members to ensure the schedules are being adhered to and tracks the progress of each build making sure they are being completed on time and to the Collins Builders' standard. He visits sites daily and attends weekly production meetings to stay up-to-date on decisions related to design and scope of work, as well as to manage and monitor the overall project status and quality.

When he’s not at work, he enjoys spending time with family. Judd has two sons, both currently studying construction management at the University of North Florida. He also enjoys activities at the beach and on the water, traveling and playing golf.

Steve “Red” Stewart is one of the newest Project Manager team members for Collins Builders, and is one of the few true Jacksonville natives, having been born and raised in the Jacksonville and surrounding areas.

Red joined Collins Builders as a Project Manager in 2022 and brings over 30 years of construction industry experience with him. He started out early in his construction career building luxury custom homes in the Hilton Head area along the coast of South Carolina. Also, having built three personal homes for himself over the years, Red has a personal passion for details, and appreciates the commitment required to provide a high level of quality in each custom home that he manages.

Red oversees every aspect of each project that he is responsible for, from site development, foundation preparation, framing all the way through the completion of each home. He is responsible for developing and monitoring each project’s milestones and works with team members to ensure that materials are secured and are available when needed. One of Reds primary goals is to ensure that each home is completed to the Collins Builders elevated standards of excellence. Red visits his project sites daily and attends weekly team meetings to stay up-to-date on details related to design and scope for each project.

When he’s not at work, Red enjoys spending time with his family. Red is married to his wife Michelle, and has four daughters, one son and two granddaughters, and enjoys the Florida outdoor lifestyle.

David Tyer

Warranty Manager

David Tyer is one of the newest team members for Collins Builders, and is a rare Jacksonville native, having been born and raised in the Jacksonville and surrounding areas.

David joined Collins Builders as our Warranty Manager and Assistant Project Manager in 2022 and brings several years of construction industry experience with him. He started out in his construction career working in general contracting and working with his hands, gaining specific experience in multiple facets of the business.

Davids primary role is to respond to, and coordinate all warranty requests with each client upon completion of each new home. David is focused to ensure that each home is completed to the Collins Builders' elevated standards of excellence. He also spends time working with each Project Manager is support of quality control measures taken throughout construction of each new Collins Builders custom home.

When he’s not at work, David has many hobbies and enjoys woodworking, sailing, surfing, shooting and spending time with his wife Shannon. Davids skills can be found in our Design Studio, with an impressive display of Brazilian Teak wall details, which are a testimony to his skillset and his passion for working with his hands.

Tolu Adewale
Tolu Adewale
Construction Accountant

Tolu Adewale oversees our Accounting department at Collins Builders, and brings with her decades of experience in accounting and finance roles. Tolu received her Bachelors Degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in 1998, and follow-up by achieving her MBA from Liberty University in 2011.

Tolu’s is responsible for all daily and ongoing accounting operations for the company, including accounts payable, insurance management and financial reporting.

Tolu is very active in her church community, and is the proud parent of two collegiate students, with a daughter attending Florida Atlantic University, and a son at the Air Force Academy.

Matt Linde is one of the newest team members for Collins Builders, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction Management from the University of North Florida in 2020.

Matt joined the team as a Project Manager in 2022 and already brings with him several years of diverse construction industry experience. Matt has specific experience in purchasing, estimating, scheduling and field management in commercial and residential building.

Matt’s primary role is to ensure that each new custom home that he manages is completed to the Collins Builders' elevated standards of excellence. He spends time focused on quality control measures taken throughout construction of each new Collins Builders custom home that he is responsible for, as well as effective client communication with ongoing project updates and on-site subcontractor management.

When he’s not at work, Matt has many hobbies and enjoys actively volunteering with the Military Museum of North Florida as an Armorer and Curator. He can usually be found either at the museum, in the woods, or working on a DIY project of some type for himself or friends and family.
